The General Practice Residency Program at St. Charles is an educational program designed to provide clinical, didactic and hospital experience at the post-doctoral level. The program prepares residents in diagnosing and providing dental care in the context of each patient’s total health care needs.
Located on the first floor of the hospital, the Clinic has six operatories serving a general population from the local community. Patients served include people with disabilities who account for more than 40% of total patient volume.

The goal of the General Practice Residency Program is to prepare general dentists to effectively provide total oral health care to patients in both ambulatory and non-ambulatory settings, with an understanding of the relationship between oral health and systematic health.
