      Program Description ↑ 

      This is a 36 month post-graduate advanced education program in Periodontics.  It has a strong clinical and interdisciplinary component.  Our residents experience all classic periodontal procedures with approximately 50% of the program dedicated to implant related surgical procedures.  Our residents have the ability to work with 8 different implant systems, virtual implant planning, guided implant surgical cases, and a variety of guided bone regeneration techniques.  Teaching and research are important components of our program as well.  All residents will perform and publish a Masters of Science in Dentistry thesis project in areas including clinical research, microbiology, immunology, dental informatic.  Our second year residents teach in the undergraduate arena one half day each week and all residents participate in various preclinical laboratories conducted for the undergraduate dental students.
